BL Families is one of the biggest traditions in the BL Freshers calendar, pairing new students with returning "Parents" who'll be there to share advice, answer your questions and help you settle into university life. It's a great way to make connections from day one with older students who've already been in your shoes.
Coming on your own? You'll be in good company.
The evening is packed with fun, fast-paced games before heading out for a well-earned curry together. Then, keep the introductions going at the Freshers Opening Party with your new BL Family by your side.
Please note that the event will begin once the introductory lecture has concluded.

Event policies
Entry Policy
All Events within our venues require physical photographic proof of age (driving license, passport, PASS card, or government ID) as well as your student card. Outside of event nights, we still operate a challenge 21 policy so please have your identification on you.
Venue Policy
We reserve the right to refuse admission to our venues and events for any reason. An exclusion means you are not allowed in any Queen Mary Students’ Union licensed venue or event.
Last entry to the queue is 11pm.
All guests are required to present a valid physical photo ID to gain entry to the venue.
Guest Policy
Guests must arrive with valid QM student to sign in. You must also purchase a guest ticket.
Refunds and Exchanges
Whilst our tickets can be exchanged with other QMUL students, these tickets are non-refundable and should not be resold at a price higher than the value of the ticket at time of purchase.
